Two weeks +1

The worst of the worst is over…My pain is now just limited to when I yawn early in the AM. I actually ate pizza last night for dinner. It was still a struggle to get it down, but I managed to eat an entire personal pan pizza. Of course there wasn’t any tomato sauce, I never really like it. So that “acid” wasn’t in the equation.

I saw a new sleep study nurse yesterday. I have to have another one done, now that I’ve had the surgery. She thinks I may have insominia on top of my OSA. Whooo hooo right??

Yeah, so I slept with my CPAP last night. First night since i had the surgery. I did pretty good, although I did wake up coughing a few times.

The throat is looking better than ever. 87% of the scabs have come off. So it’s still a bit raw back there. I just need this to finish healing. I’ve been reading and a lot of the websites say that you should “eat rough foods” to enable the scabs to come off sooner. Hence the trial with pizza last night. The day before I tried some chicken. That didn’t go over well. But I tried. Mushy foods still get a bit stuck.
My upper esophageal sphincter (UES) (the bundle of muscles at the top of the esophagus) is still inflammed. Which medical term is esophagitis.

The irritation from my gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is the cause of the infection. Who knows … if this doesn’t clear up, I’m going to have the doctor check for possible esophageal cancer. Or it could be a case of esophageal ring or esophageal web. I might have some extra tissue around that UES that is causing me trouble swallowing. Which I never had before.

But the end all is that I’m getting better. I’m working towards better health (minus the UES problem) and getting healthy mentally. So now, to get back to my normal life…it’s saturday…time to clean house, and get ready for next week. Still weighing in under 210!!

About blutruth

A random sarcastic a-hole. But still fun loving and wonderful. I have my moments where I spaz out, but who doesn't. This is a general fall spot for my late night ramblings about life in general.
