Microsoft Xbox One

Well it has been announced today the new XBox.  Gamers around the world have been anticipating this for a many many many years. Well I’m a gamer and I have to say that it potentially sucks for XBox. I get my consoles to play games (which I haven’t done in a while, but that’s another story). This one is set to come with an 8-core CPU, 8 GB of system memory, and a 500 GB hard drive. Each new system will come already with a Kinect (the body/movement controller) that will have an “always-on” connection. Meaning it never really turns off even if you turn off the system. It can reconnect at any given time.

So yeah…kinda creepy right? Any given hacker could potentially hack into your kinect, turn it on and watch you from afar without your knowledge. Not really the type of thing I want to happen with mine. Then there is the deal that says you can turn on your tv and cable box with it. It also allows you to watch cable (or live tv) through the system. I’m sorry but not I….I prefer to watch cable through the cable box. Plus you have to pay for Xbox live. I did a prepaid year long subscription cause I ended up with a discount after it was all said and done. Now that my year is up, unless I find another deal, i’ll be playing offline. (besides I can play on my PS3 for free all the time)

Annother thing they announced is that the system will NOT be backwards-compatible. Another downfall…I mean I know myself I have about 10 games for my xbox (not including the stuff I have downloaded to my hard drive in my 360), each of those games were about $60-70 a piece. So if I was to get this new system, I’d have to shell out all that cash for new games? Or I’d have to maintain two hookups to my tv to play on both systems depending on the game. Yeah no. My tv is a fairly old and only has 2 HDMI ports, I currently run one port to my surround sound system that has 4 inputs and 1 output.  So needless to say I have in my barrage my cable box, my 360, my ps3, and my apple tv.

There is a hookup that goes to my laptop that has an external HDMI port, so I can get the big full-fledged experience. But that’s beyond the point. The BWC is going to be a big deal for a lot of gamers. Hell I have my 1st gen ps3 that is BWC with the ps1, ps2, and ps3 games. I hope like hell what ever the next ps3 that comes out, my system will play those games, or that Sony will still make games for the ps3. I hate that I have to buy a new system every couple of years to keep up with the Jones’.  Shyt I should be able to trade in my ps2 for a newer system and keep my ps3. **sigh** eventually things will have to come to a mutual agreement between these companies and the consumers. Think about us for a minute and stop thinking with your wallet.

A random sarcastic a-hole. But still fun loving and wonderful. I have my moments where I spaz out, but who doesn't. This is a general fall spot for my late night ramblings about life in general.
