Why I love Sprint

This goes out to all the people who have been having issues with their cell phone providers recently!!! if i tagged you, its either cause you are a loyal sprint customer like me, or you have experienced some problems lately, or i just think you need to know why i dislike your cell phone company…lol
Ya know folks… recently I’ve been around a lot of folks who have been experiencing some serious issues with their phones and it makes me ever so grateful about having Sprint as my wireless provider. So first let me give you some background about my experiences as a sprint customer.
well first off, i’ve been a loyal customer since 1998. Yes folks over 10 years and counting!!
While i didn’t have an unlimited premier status like i do now, i started out like everyone else.. my spending limit on my account was $250. So meaning if my account balance went over 250, then my phone would be cut off. Well of course i’m smart and look for every possible discount i can get to keep my bill LOW!! well at first i didn’t need as many minutes cause lets face it, back in 98, everyone i called lived across the country from me, so by the time i’d call them, it would be well after 9 pm so my calls were always free, and no one called me during the day time. and if they did, i’d make it a very quick call and get off the phone. Back then i was hoein’ (yea i wont lie) so i had shorties all over the place, but none needed more than 5 mins on the phone to hear what i had to say. *smirk* but as time went on, i got to know more and more people so i increased my minutes to accommodate people. but still made it a point to let folks know.. don’t call me really until after 9, or on the weekend. Then in 2001 i got stationed in Germany. Well of course I didn’t feel like paying for an extravagant overseas phone plan, nor did i need to pay for a phone i really didn’t need. So Sprint being the great company they are, put me on a “vacation plan” for the time I was there. I’d pay them $10 a month to keep my service open (cause i was gone for two years and didn’t want to lose my number that i had for the last 3). Folks could call and leave me voicemails, and i could call and get my voicemails from there. So for two years, i connected with my friends through voicemail, email and international phone calls (thanks Duetche Telekom). When I returned home, it was time for a phone upgrade, and a new plan. Well fast forward about 6 years time came for me to go back overseas this time to Kuwait. Again Sprint had no problem putting me back on the vacation plan. I was only gone a year this time, but i had come back home after 6 months, got my phone switched back on right quick for the month i was home, then back to the vacation plan again. Now never had a problem until I came home from Kuwait. My first and only problem I’ve ever had with Sprint, someone let the ball slip and didn’t put my phone in the vacation state. of course I was a bit miffed, but the customer service i got through emails and phone calls, restored my account to its status, and my number was back. (it was the most important thing to me cause think about i had the same number since 98, it was all people knew {and unlike so many folks today…who change phone numbers like they change their panties/boxers whatever} i couldn’t just contact everyone and inform them…screw that!!!) So shortly after i got home, Sprint upgraded me to Premier status .. with an unlimited spending account!! so meaning that no matter how high my bill gets it won’t get cut off (though im sure there is a limit somewhere). a year later, they introduced the “simply everything plan” so now i have what to me is simply the best phone ever (my blackberry) with the greatest plan ever (unlimited everything.. minutes, text, picture mail, internet access, you name it) for only $100 a month.
Most people i know with the other “best cell phone ever” iphone…cant simply have that.. they gotta pay extra for their data plans…outrageous fees… umm yeah fuk all that. Now At&t has been known as Cingular previously… and well they sucked ass then, and they suck ass now. People say the iphone is the greatest thing ever… well i’ll stick with my ipod touch and my blackberry. I’m a more business involved person and nothing to me speaks business than my blackberry.
noticably lately TMobile… whom i considered getting a second phone through until i realized their “unlimited” plan wasn’t really as unlimited as they claim it is. and with their most recent server failure that caused all their subscribers with sidekicks to lose their data… umm yeah..woulda been enough right then to make me switch service providers. not that i wouldn’t have backed up my phone, but yeah.. to lose EVERYTHING!!! i got issues with that!!! And apparently over the last week they been telling folks their bills were paid (and some of course were actually paid) and then their accounts were showing not being paid???? wtf t-mobile?? i pay sprint… it stays paid! my phone contacts are stored in my phone, not on a server that i have no access too. my email comes to me, not to their server. so what happens if the server is hacked into? someone then gets my contact info and my emails… so there goes my privacy.
Alltel .. who recently merged with Verizon…has its fair share of issues…i know few folks who have had problems getting calls. no voicemails instantly but yet hours later… its like are you serious… preventing them from taking care of business… no way buddy. i need to get my stuff done. and umm am i the only one that finds that the still circulating commercials, still feature Verizon to be a competitor even through they are now Alltel’s parent company?? isn’t that an oxymoron??
Verizon..omg..i really hate verizon..all the claim they have the largest network? i hate that “can you hear me now” guy. people i know with verizon…why does it seem like everytime i call one of them, the call gets dropped. i call back… what happened… oh i dont know my call dropped…oh okay, i know it wasnt me, my phone said call ended, not call dropped. then they’d be out in the middle of no where and have no signal strength, while i could be there and maybe have 1 or 2 bars, but i still got bars.. get it together verizon.
im so glad that sprint has never really had a problems getting my calls to me, acknowledging that my bill has been paid (or even when its a few days late – they don’t hound me for my payment cause they know its gonna be paid), my voicemails get to me on time. I like it .. naw fuk that.. i love it!!
