So i hadn’t planned on doing anything for v-day with the current chick i’m somewhat seeing…
but after a 30 min harrassment phone call from a friend of mine i let my mind start to think, then i sent her a text that said, get dressed i’ll be there in an hour.
after i pulled up i handed her a piece of paper with the following 8 words on it
Books / Notes
Appetizer / Dessert
Toy / Bat
Game / Drinks
she was to circle 4 of the 8 choices and that would determine our date. She circled her four and we were on our way…but first a pit stop…
we headed down to good-will to make a donation of clothes that she had helped me sort out in my garage two weeks before, then it was off to the first part of our date.
She circled Books … so we ended up at Barnes & Nobles… once inside we headed to the self-help section of the store to grab some “XXXX # of things to make you smile” etc type of books…then we high tailed it to the kids section…the idea was to pick out your fav. childhood book, then we sat in a corner and i read her book to her, and she mine to me. then out of the book of quotes (me) and wishlist (her) that we had grabbed, we wrote down 12 different things. we then took the next ten mins to disperse throughout the store and leave those 24 slips of paper in random books for the soon to be new owners to find.
First part complete…off to part 2
“Appetizer” … we headed off to Boston market … picked up the 3 sides meal with corn bread… sweet potato’s, cinnamon apples, and rosemary potato’s. We shared this small meal with our “dessert” of banana strawberry smoothies. we talked, laughed..then it was off to part 3…
“Bat” …. we hit up the batting cages down the road… she got demolished!!!! but then i felt bad so we headed over to the “toy” part and hit up the arcade room. We split 60 tokens and off we went to win as many tickets as possible. with the tickets we were to buy each other gifts… she got me.. a chinese yo-yo, a key chain, and an eraser…i got her .. sidewalk chalk, a bracelet, light up dice, a tattoo sticker, another earring sticker (that we lost on the way to the truck) and a rainbow colored hacky sack. Note i won twice as many tickets as she did.
Finally it was off to part 4 “drinks”… we ended up at the spot where we first met. this quaint coffee house, where we enjoyed buy one get one free gelato cups!!! she had spiced cider, i had a cup of tea, then we went upstairs with our treats and i broke out the kindle fire where we played a furious game of monopoly!!!
after a while..both of us had to go, but the bathroom was pretty gross so we booked it to her room. we finished the game while laying across her bed..then I gave her a kiss good night and headed home.
So if you ever need a date idea… the “this or that” is a wonderful one.
